Your final blog post is a reflective writing task. You will be writing about the teams unit as a whole, starting way back in week one, right through to the final tournament day.
Things you need to write about (about a paragraph each)
- An introduction to the unit
- Highlights of the unit
- Your learning in the unit
- Who your team is
- Challenges you faced
- Reflections on things you would do differently if you had the opportunity again.
- A conclusion about your overall experience in the unit.
You need to put a high level of detail into this as it is your last opportunity to demonstrate your learning in the unit.

Final blog post
In room 17 term 4 our teachers made up a project where we would participate in teams of five or six. and then play in a sporting carnival. On the day we were
introduced to this project we were put into randomly selected teams and in our teams we chose to a sport. We had four options but yit him. Go geveryone chose American flag football or more well known as gridiron. We also had to come up with a team name and my team came up with the name of the flaming Cobras. We also had to pick roles like coach, captain, reporter, art director and trainer. And in our teams we had to go to weekly trainings run by the coaches where we would learn how to play the game. We would also go to press conferences run by the reporters and the reporters would ask people some questions.
One of my favourite moments from this unit were on the day of the carnival where we played the American flag football. We played four games and my team played really well but unfortunately we only one 1 game. Wonder we found our mojo we were pretty good . Unfortunately I hurt my finger and couldn’t play the last game and we also unfortunately we lost by 1 point to the thunder cats. I was really proud of my team and they did so well. One of my other highlights were the training session I think that the coaches did really well and taught us a lot of the rules and the coaches made it a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it. We also did press conferences which helps in future with speaking out loud in front of a crowd.
I learnt a lot in this unit. Not only did I learn a lot about the sport American flag football but I learnt about my teammates and their abilities. As I mentioned I learnt a lot about the sport and Howie is played. As a team we also learnt how to work together as a team and we also learnt a lot about each other and got to know each other a lot more. I learnt what spots my team play best which will be good for finals. I learnt that I play best as wide receiver and everyone else has also found their position like Zain’s is good as wide receiver and Ethan is a good quarterback and alka play well as centre . I also learnt about the statistics and how they work. I think this unit has been a good learning experience for everyone that was involved.
So as I mentioned there was five teams and my team was called the flaming Cobras. In my team there are five people and those people are coach Zain kannane, art director and trainer Alka Kumar, reporter Nora sebeyi, captain Ethan McInnes and me the General manager. Zain’s job is the Coach and he makes up the training sessions and teach us how to play the game and tactics that people will use in games. Alkas job as art director is to come up with good designs that will go well on our banner and t shirts and as trainer she helped set up things like trainings. Nora’s job as reporter is to come up with questions that she will ask in the press conference. Ethan’s job as captain is to lead us on the day so he will do a rock off to see who will attack first. And my job as general manager is to set up the carnival and things like media week
In this unit you would expect to have a couple of challenges we had to of faced. As a part of general managers we had a lot of problems that we faced were like when we had to decide what days we were going to do the carnival and the days were changed three times each and we had to go all around the school asking teachers if we could swap lessons with them so it would fit in. We also had to change the day because of transition days and because it was in term 4 it happens a lot. One of my personal challenges was when I got injured and couldn’t play the last game and I had also previously hurt my ankle and that affected my performance.
There are a couple of things that I would’ve done differently in this unit like I would like to change how organised we were late for setting up training sessions and I would also change how we play like I would of let some rules apply like intersection on conversion and I would’ve liked to get rid of the no holding rule but I know it would be against school rules. I would also change is the time we did this unit because we did it in term 4 it interfered with things like transition days and the many other things we did in term 4. Also I would do it ofer two terms rather than 1.
I think that this unit was an amazing experience and really good learning experience that I hope that other classes experience this as well. I really enjoyed this unit and next time I would make it a whole year thing instead of a term thing. But in conclusion I think this was a really good unit and would love to do this again.
