This week your task is to write a ‘short story’ version of this ‘short film’. You need to write from the perspective of one of the two characters that we see. This is tricky! Make sure that you do some thinking and planning before you write. There isn’t a lot of dialogue in this film so you will need to explore the thoughts of the character and some descriptive writing about the setting.

Road’s end
I turned around the dirt rode path just admiring the desert with all the cactuses still chewing on my mint gum up the road there was this man standing next to a crashed car. One part of me said to keep driving because he was wearing a brown suit, red bandana and a pair of prescription goggles but I pulled over anyway, I asked the man if he needs a ride to the service station just up ahead and opened the door. He got in and we started driving. I tried to make conversation but I got no response back. He looked down at his watch and looked back up keeping the silence. I asked if he was ok. He looked over at me and his goggles showed my car falling off a cliff. I gasped as he disappeared. My car spun out of control smashing into the side of the cliff. My car was unable to turn and drove off the cliff. The man yelled out behind me. He yelled dam Daniel before facing the other way. The man stuck his thumb out as another driver came by. I tried to yell out but I was stuck under a crashed car.

Road’s End
I was just driving my old car then after a few minutes I crashed when a baby kangaroo jumped in front of me and I nearly got myself killed. I was lucky to escape but escaping me cost to do something. It cost me to kill people when they were driving but not by knives and those but by crashes. I wondered how I would do that then suddenly I had goggles that predict the future and a watch to escape in time. I got inside the first car and I was really nervous of killing this guy. He said he could take me to the station uphill and ask for help but I said nothing. Actually I couldn’t say anything because I had a scarf over my mouth and I was too scared. When I got to the quarter of the road there a sting came to my arm and I looked at it. My watch said to my brain that it about to crash when that man said that if I was okay. After the watch stopped stinging the man said if I was in the that car that crashed. I said nothing again then he said “Are you sure you are ok.” I showed him my goggles and the man knew his future and the he crashed and I again escaped in time. I started to like this job and it was fun. Then I saw the other car coming and I put my hand out to kill the other guy and I smiled even though he couldn’t see it.

I had just been fired and was pretty sad. I thought maybe I should do something nice, so I was driving to the donation centre. Suddenly I found this guy near a car wreck. He had his thumb up so I thought why not give him a lift. I thought it would be a pretty nice thing to do especially how I had lost so much. I wanted to give so much greatness I just had this weird feeling. I asked “would you like a lift down to the nearest gas station?” he didn’t reply at all it was quite scary. I continued to ask more questions. I was worried. If he was in the that car wreck he would be badly hurt. He still had no reply, it looked like he was scared or something. I only had one more question “are you sure your alright?”. Still no reply but he turned his head and looked at me. I stared at him. He looked suspicious, I saw something in his goggles and I leaned closer to see a better view. I saw my car go off the cliff! Suddenly I hit the rock on the side of the rough dirt road my car was going side to side. The rock put it off balance. I went straight to the side, going off the cliff. I then realised he had killed the guy in the last car.

Creepy Guy’s Perspective:
Well, that’s my first victim, he died the way I imagined, off a cliff, now here comes my second. This one has a humongous forehead, not like the one before, he was just plain bald. He said that he would take me to the station down the road, I said nothing, well I couldn’t say anything because I escaped that last car too late and cut my mouth wide open, that’s why I’m wearing a scarf.The driver then asked me if I was alright, I thought in my head that I should ask him if he would be alright when the time comes. He asked me if I was in that car, well, before it crashed. I checked my watch to see when it is time, we just went up the hill and I knew that in at least a few seconds, he was dead. The driver then asked me if I was alright again and I knew it was time, I made him stare into my goggles, he saw his future, he gasped and was so scared he hit a rock and went through the gate, I escaped at least a second before the car crashes, I made it out alive. That was my second victim, I wiped the dust of my jacket and now here comes my third. I whispered, “Time to die”.

I was driving down the old dusty road I saw a guy wearing a red scarf around his nose and mouth, he also had these weird glasses on. He was standing next to a car that had obviously crashed. I pulled up next to him and asked if he was alright. I didn’t get a response so I said, there’s a service station up ahead and that I would take him there. I opened up the door and he waited a bit before walking in. I started to drive up the desert hills when I said were you in that car? Again no response, unless you count looking at your watch as a response. We drive around a corner when I asked another question “are you sure you’re alright?” He looked at me and I saw in his goggles my car falling off of the cliff. I gasped and lost control of the car. The guy vanished out of sight when the car tumbled off the cliff. He was standing up were I fell off and then another car came alone. He stuck his thumb up and he was about to do the same to those people.e as what he did to me.

On day I was driving down the road and a saw something strange. I saw a stranger next to his crashed car I thought. I pulled over to see if he was alright. I said are you alright and he didn’t say anything to me. So I opened the door and said are you aright and offered to take him to the next station. So I opened the door and he got in. I thought he was a bit creepy and started thinking to myself if he coursed the other car crash or if he was going to course me to crash my car. I kept asking if he was alright because I just wanted to know if he wasn’t hurt or he was a murder. We were getting closer and closer to the bus stop and I just wanted to get him out of my car and keep on driving. He looked at his watch to check the time. Then I started the get the creeps even more. I said one more time are you alright and then he looked into my eyes with his weird googles on and it showed me crashing. I thought it was really strange and then I looked back at the road and I bumped into the mount and drove off the cliff and died. The End

One windy day I was driving and I saw a wired looking man that had crashed in his car. He looked like he was alright he had a red towel over his mouth and a brown jacket on. I thought I will stop and help him so I did so we were on our way to the station. The wind was blowing dust was going on the front of the car. The guy looked at his watch I asked are you ok and the man finally looked at me. When I looked into his glasses there was me crashing of the cliff when I looked at the road again I bumped into the mountains and fell of the cliff.

One day I was at a car wreck, I was messing with the wheels of the car. A man drove towards me I put my thumb out for him to stop. He asked “if I was ok” I didn’t say anything I just stood there and stared at him. The man said “there is a station up ahead I could take you there” then he opened the door. I stood still for a couple of seconds then I hopped in the man’s car. And he drove off, he kept looking at me then he would look back at the rode. I checked my watch after he asked if I was alright, I turned my head and looked at him he looked into my goggles, and saw him driving off a cliff, he got freaked after seeing this and drove the cliff exactly as he saw it in my goggles. I escaped in time but he didn’t, but as another car drove into sight I put my thumb out again. And the driver stopped.

On day in the hot desert ther was a man he was casually driving home from work when he sees a man this man looked very suspicious the man had a brown trench coat on with googles and a red bandana covering the lower half of his face. The man asked if the other man would like a ride to the station the creepy guy said nothing but got in with the man. The man ask if he is ok and offer him some water the creepy guy turned away refusing the water as the man drives up on to a clif the creepy guy turned around facing the man and then yelled boo the man spun out of control driving of the cliff the creepy guy got out of the car and leaped out on to the cliff and then turned and put his hand out for to get another ride to the station and before he new it another car came to let the man in.

Drivers perspective
I was driving along a boring old desert road with a cactus and a couple of big rocks that looked like they were about to fall from the hill. I was on my way to the train station at the next town when I saw a man standing on the side of the road with a red scarf and goggles it looked like he was in a car crash. So I said I would give him a lift to a station when he got in he looked like he had a plan I was scared and I said to myself why did I let him in then he looked at his watch then I said are you alright he didn’t answer. Then he looked at me really weird then I looked at him he had something going on in his goggles it looked like it was about to happen now and it did then I drove straight of the ledge…

Creepy man
Oh, I just crashed my car. Then I had a look at my future time telling watch. I saw a man coming down the road in his rustic car. Obviously he came my watch never lies and when he came he said. “Are you alright.” I tried to say yes but I couldn’t because I was a reaper. I could not talk so he said. “ I could take you to the gas station, it’s just around the corner.” Once again I could not talk, I was going to say. “Yes if that’s ok with you I would respect that .” But he invited me in. So he took me around the road of the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico. Then he said “How did you crash.” But I could not talk so I said nothing. But then I had another vision, it was of the man and his car falling off the cliff. When the man looked at me he saw the reflection of my glasses, it was his car crashing. Then he lost all control off the vehicle and drove off the cliff and I escaped just in time. But then it happened again….

I was driving around the desert when i saw this man next to a car, at first I just thought his car broke down but when i got closer i saw the car has been flipped over. I was in rush to go see my friend but still asked if he needed help, he didn’t answer me but i still wanted to help him so I opened the door and told him to get in. After he got in i asked “were you in that car” I got no response but I just kept on driving instead of asking again. I wasn’t too sure about going up the cliff side because he looked suspicious and it wouldn’t of been safe but I said to myself that he was probably just scared. So without thinking anymore I just drove up the cliff side, while driving upon asked him if he was okay but this time he just looked at his watch and looked straight ahead. I started to get angry but I didn’t want him to realise so I just asked him in a calm voice “Are u okay?” This time he looked me straight into the eye so I looked him in the eye and all k saw was me driving off a cliff. And before you know it I was driving off a cliff I looked to my right to see if the guy was in the car but he wasn’t, he was at the top of the cliff side.
