On Thursday we had our first press conference, with GM’s and Coaches from each team answering questions about their team’s identity and progress so far, as well as their ambitions. Your task is to create a news article based on information you picked up in the press conference. Your article should introduce at least one of the teams, as well as introduce the concept of the tournament and the new class structure of being split into teams, while discussing the purpose of this. You may need to conduct follow up interviews if you don’t have enough information from the press conference.
Your article should follow the inverted pyramid structure that we discussed in our writing workshop, and should total between 240 and 320 words.

Zach, I found it difficult to read through your first paragraph as it seemed to be more a collection of sentences than a coherent sequence of information. There is evidence of you following the Pyramid structure for creating a News Article, however we need to do some more work on writing in a way that flows and is easy to read and engaging for the reader.

people in year 6 and 7 are training for a NFL tournament at woodend primary school. The tournament is in week seven term 4 there are 5 teams competing in this tournament. There names are flaming cobras, vicious tigers, tofu titans, thundercats and quicksilver kickers. There are six roles in the teams the reporter, coach, general manager, art designer and trainer. Every Thursday we have a press conference. That is when there is a group of people asking the people out the front questions about how their team is going. Our captain is larz and I think he is good because he has good leadership towards the team and he knows a lot of dance moves to do for our dance. Our art designer is Jordan I think she is the best at art in our group she puts a lot of detail into to her work. Our general manager is Ella she is a good leader to our team she has a lot to do with our school so that is why we picked her as general manager. Our reporter is Skylah because she is good at taking notes at the press conferences and asking detailed questions to the other teams. Our team coach is Zach he is a good coach because he is good at setting up the activities that we are doing and explains to our team well what activities we have to do. And lastly I am the trainer I think I am a good trainer because I know a lot of drills to do before we get into the activities. And everyone was ok with what roll they have. Our tournament will be starting soon.

There has been reports of trick or treaters disappearing near the old abandoned church. Even though we believe they are still alive somewhere. People have been asking where have these kids gone and will we ever see them again.
The old church was abandoned due to the crazy psycho killer named Timmy junior.
He took hostages to threaten the government to make him apologise for banishing him to the outskirts of Texas city.
Miss Pop grumpy was walking her dog at the time of the incident when she saw 5 kids enter the church. It looked like their older brothers made them do a dare so they all entered. She checked to see where the kids were, but there was no sign or trace of where they were. So she left to call the cops to find out where they were.
Be aware that Timmy junior maybe near them and will not stop playing. He’ll never give up against the government. Without an apology.

Week 2 1st Press Conference
Students from room 17 and teachers around school have planned a special NFL event for 2 days of a NFL games and finals. In this competition there are 5 teams including the The Flaming Cobras, Vicious Tigers, Tofu Titans, Thundercats and The Quicksilver Kickers. With each teams they have special rolls to do for part of the NFL day. These five rolls are the coach, general manager, captain, trainer, art director and reporter. As lead up to the days they have special trainings every Wednesday to improve their skills and come up with their strategies.
The reason of everyone’s job is so they can have a job to do apart of the day. They were chosen by each team deciding what’s best for everyone. The general managers decided that they will umpire the matches along with one other person in there team. There will be two main umpires, two sideline umpires and two statistical umpires.
As part of the NFL day there has been one press conference each week on Thursday mornings. As our first interviews we had five people getting interviewed they were the names of Ethan.C, Nicolas, Ella, Brianna and Zain. This press conference was quite boring to some people as barely anything was said and the wording was bad. We had quotes like “Next question please” and “Were going well”. Fortunately some things interesting were said about their game plans.
The events of the NFL are going to be held on week 8 Monday and Tuesday. Many teams are very busy now working on many things including team banners, songs, dances and plenty more.

AFF interview
This term in week 8 room 17 will be having a competition with five teams. The competition will be in week 8 Monday and Tuesday well that’s what the gm’s have come up with so far. The main one that came up with this competition in Mr Natare and Mr lamshed our teacher. The five teams are Flaming cobras, Vicious tigers,tofu Titans,thunder cats and quicksilver kickers. Now every Thursday we have a press conference and we have to take notes.
So we decided to go to the interview and this is what they had to say.
Zain said “our team had been going really well at training”. What has happened Zain your team training was going well but it’s dropped off wow. So at the moment we know Zain has high standards for his team and his team training isn’t going well.

1st press conference
On Thursday 28th of October on the second week of the team’s project we had our 1st press conference of the year. It was a good learning experience for everyone. Some of the general managers and some of the couches got up to answer some very detailed questions from our class reporters. flaming Cobras coach Zain kannae,
Thundercats general manager brianna, tofu Titans general manager Ella, quicksilver kickers coach nick and viscous tigers coach Ethan c were asked questions.
All of the teams are working towards the carnival in week 8 of term four. A lot of work has been put in so far. The carnival run by the General manager is we’re all ower teams play American flag football. On the day there will be several games of America football.
In the press conference the people up the front were asked questions brianna from the thundercats was asked “what is your team good at” brianna responded “ the team thinks they’re very good, the things they’re best at are running and reviving the ball”.
We expect that the next couple of weeks the teams will build on their answers and the question and we will find out more about our teams.

American flag football conferences article
Today we are going to ask question towards our guests.
The Flaming Cobras coach represented his team in the conferences and what he has achieved with his team is know matter what partner you have you still try your best. What they need to improve on is throwing further and faster. Onto team Thunder Cats they need to improve on listening to their coach because lately their kind of messing around. Also say they stand a very good chance of winning.
The best thing there good at is running and receiving the ball. Vicious tigers need to improve on their throwing as well and the spin on the throw. Thinks their very respectful towards the opposition and has very good sportsmanship.
I’m in the team To Fu Titans and I think our competition will be tough and I think the things we need to focus on is passing because it’s not as fast as the coach wants it to be. Throwing because the coach says we haven’t quite got the the right style of throwing because it’s not going fast and far enough.

Quick silver kickers says their behaviour is good towards the coach. If coach had to decide who gets most improved trophies we would give it to Zico. Doesn’t think their throwing that good. To fu Titans. The coach will represent his team in the conference he says his team need to improve on throwing as well. Also said there really fast learners and stands a chance a winning.

American flag football tournament
Looks like this season is shaping up to look great for the rugby teams quick silver kickers and the tofu titans just two of the five teams that will be competing at the end of term 4. We have been informed that all teams have been working well together and trying hard. Recently at a press conference coaches have said all their trainings have gone great and each day their teams are improving. The final product is supposed to be a big event with all the parents coming, a bit like sports day. Their teacher has still not been available for questions but the kids have been handling the press really well. But some kids are very reluctant to the press like their hiding a game plan.
Nobody knows where this idea came from but the kids enjoy it a lot.
The class has been doing extra things behind the scenes like having meetings as coaches or general manager meetings to get the whole day sorted out. The kids have training every Wednesday and press conferences every Thursday. The captains create the dances and chants for the groups while the art directors have been working hard to create the banners, the coaches have been working on the drills for all the teams, the general managers have had many meetings discussing how the day will turn out.
On Thursday the teams had a press conference with the speakers who were, Ethan cahill the coach of tofu titans, Nicolas bogdan coach of quick silver kickers, Brianna the GM of thunder cats, Ella GM of vicious tigers and finally Zain the coach of flaming cobras. During the meeting the people were very reluctant to say much except for that their team was doing well which is a very true statement considering how their doing in training. The most reluctant people were the coaches. Nicolas Ethan and Zain. Ethan and Zain didn’t have much constructive feedback and Nicolas didn’t give away anything. Whether this means that they have a secret weapon or secret play people are still unsure. “I prefer not to give anything away” he said to the reporters that afternoon.
It became very evident that at the end of the press conference that The reporters wouldn’t nearly have enough information to write this news article, especially as the coach of the Quicksilver Kickers decided to reply with little comment,Just as some of the other people did. “It will be interesting to see how the season plays out, I wish all teams and players the very best for the upcoming tournament at the end of term 4” said their teacher. That’s all the teacher has said so far. Hopefully our reporters can get some more time with him soon.

American football conference
Today is Thursday the 2nd of November and we had a press conference with the team captains. They were asked questions and this is what they said.
Edward is the captain of the Thundercats.
Edward said that he wants his team to get better at throwing. He said that they will get better at throwing by practising more at training and talking about tactics to throw the ball bigger and longer.
Edward said that he is could for captain because he can boss people around and can lead his team well.
Edward says that his team has a great captain to keep them motivated and on the right track to becoming a good team.
Next we asked Cody some questions Cody is the General manager of the quicksilver kickers he his filling in for Lily which is away.
Cody said that no one in there team stands out. He said that they are all even players.
Cody says that Lily is there captain because she doesnt suit the other roles and shed is a good leader. He says that she keeps there team on track.
Cody said that there team needs to improve before the tournament.
Next we asked Larz some questions he is the captain of the Vicious Tigers.
If Someone in there team has a problem Larz said he would talk 1 on 1 with them and solve the problem as best he can.
Larz said the he will keep his team on task and have a good attitude to each other.
He says that he will communicate with the team well and won’t tolerate bad behavior.
Larz said he won’t single out someone in there team.
Next was Daniel the Gm of the Tofu Titans filling in for Calvin.
Daniels said that his team needs to work on their dance to be ready for the tournament.
He says that he is enjoying being gm because he enjoys bossing people around and working with his team.
Daniel says that he will promote the sport by getting people to watch the games.
Next we interviewed Ethan the captain of the Flaming Cobras.
He says that his team is coming along strongly and is on track for a great season and he says he wants to start with a win to lift their confidence.
Ethan said that the team chose him to be captain because they thought he could be a good leader and do well in games.
Ethan said that his team is working well together and if have any problem he will talk to the team or talk privately with the person with the person with the problem.

There was a press conference for the new American Football teams which are called Tofu Titans, Flaming Cobra, Thundercats, Quicksliver Kickers, and Vicious Tigers. The people at the press conference were: Nicolas (Quicksilver Kicker’s coach), Ethan (Tofu Titan’s coach), Ella (Vicious Tiger’s general manager), Zain, (Flaming Cobras coach), Brianna (Thundercats general manager), and every team’s reporters. From what they said the teams are mostly starting off really well with a few minor setbacks which will be easily fixed with practice.
For a couple of weeks the year 6/7s of room 17 percent have been working on American Football teams. A press conference was held to celebrate the new teams.. The reporters organised the conference. Each team came up with a couple of questions for the other teams and the reporters asked them to the team’s representative.
Zain’s team (Flaming Cobras) is working really well but needs to improve throwing. Brianna’s team (Thundercats) work as a team. Ella’s team (Vicious Tigers) needs to stay on task. Nicolas’s team (Quicksliver Kickers) doesn’t need to improve on behaviour. Ethan’s team (Tofu Titans) is pretty good and has improved quite a bit.
We are having press conference every 2 week. There will be different representatives each time though and a new article as well.
I think that the press conference went really well. Especially that it was the first one.

Last week the American Football teams had their first Press Conference. All of room 17 gathered in the atrium and took their seats. Before everyone knew it the conference began. All five teams had attended the conference, Flaming Cobras, Tofu Titans, Thunder Cats, Quicksilver Kickers and Vicious Tigers.
The reporters were asking questions one by one and they got some good answers out of them.
Zain said his team, the Flaming Cobras have been working really well at training and they are progressing really well.

She also said that her team is going really are well and they need to work on their running and receiving.
Ella from the Vicious Tigers said her team was going well as well. They need to work on their on their listening.

American Football Press Conference
Today, Class 17 held a Press conference with the 5 teams, Quicksilver Kickers, in which I am a member of, Flaming Cobras, Tofu Titans, Vicious Tigers and Thundercats. Our two teachers made the arrangements for this press conference to happen. In my team I also have Kalani, Lily, Nicholas and Cody
In our teams, we have six jobs to do, these are given to a member of the team. We have a Reporter, Captain, Art Director, Coach, General Manager and a Trainer. The General Manager has the biggest job to do and that is to watch over the whole day. The captains are organising the group and are together making the dance moves for a chant to be done on the day. The Art Directors have a fun job in making T-shirts and the banners for the teams. The coaches and trainers, which is my job work together to make sure trainings are getting ready.
Kalani, the general manager spoke of the training and how the preparation for the opening ceremony was. Kalani was open and helpful, and answered questions as needed. Kalani seems happy with the progress.
The press conferences will continue every week on a Thursday to make sure that the planning is running smoothly and that if help is required it can be done. I feel the day is going to be fun having been well planned. T-shirts will be a great memory to walk away with.
